I tried an apple cider vinegar and water solution to condition my hair. Perhaps it was too much of a change at once. My hair felt totally dry and stiff. I'm thinking 3x a week for the baking soda might be too much.

I must pick me up some of those pears you all keep talking about.

I miss you all terribly...hoping everyone is doing well.

  1. Eileen, go here and read this http://babyslime.livejournal.com/174054.html about baking soda and vinegar. Maybe it will help you. This is where I first learned about it.

  2. Thanks Megan. I've been using the same ratios. Adding oils too feels like too much maintenance for me. Perhaps I'll back up and do baking soda a couple times a week for now.

  3. I know all the people online say to use 1 tbls of baking soda in a cup of water, but I use less than a teasp and it still works. I would recommend seeing how low you can go with it still cleaning your hair. That might help with the stiffness. Also, I still use a bit of shampoo afterwards. I guess it's our water, if I don't I get white buildup. But I never need conditioner so I don't bother with the rinse now.
